With cutting edge tech and customer engagement. Recursive designed the customer facing technology elements throughout the store, including immersive trial zone areas for football, basketball and running using a combination of the physical and the virtual.

The Brief

Recursive were approached by Greenroom Design to help develop two unique sports experiances for the new flagship store based on initial concepts. Recursive were asked to provide consultancy services to ensure the infrastructure and equipment were optimised and Recursive Media’s development team provided bespoke software to run both the basketball and football experiances.

Our Role

Recursive AV were responsible for developing and designing infrastructure and system designs for both the basketball and football experiance zones. Each required a number of depth sensing cameras for ball and person tracking in the experiance, three digital cameras to capture the action, flat panel displays showing the leaderboard, touch panels for users to initiate the game and projection for the basketball experiance. The Recursive Media team developed custom code to run each experiance, requiring complex tracking modules for players and the ball using data sent from depth sensing cameras. A dedicated depth sensing camera was used to detect hoop’s scored in basketball and bespoke code was developed to interface with the Sutu Wall – normaly a stand alone solution, in the football experiance. A number of additional targets were provided in the basketball experiance for a particular game varient and an arduino was used to light targets and detect hit all controlled via our bespoke code.
