Pro-Direct LDN 19

Recursive designed and developed a unique 4k playback platform with interactive touch-based podiums installed at the ground breaking Pro Direct retail store in London. Designed to bridge the gap between bricks and mortar and online, the unique system allows high resolution video and images to support the product launches of all major brands such as Nike and Adidas. It does all this in real-time using links to the instore CMS as well as taking live feeds from all of Pro Direct’s social feeds.

Creating Concepts

We deployed our own unique in house content system called Pixel to drive the content throughout the Pro Direct store. Pixel is capable of connecting directly to any CMS system, to dynamically allow the remote publishing of content directly into the store as part of the overall business workflow. It also consumes live social feeds and allows multiple layers of interaction, with fully synchronised playback of multiple content feeds across video walls and multiple screens.

Our Role

We provided core design services to define the AV & IT systems across the store working through RIBA stages 1 through 4. We also provided construction administration (CA) and handover and close out services covering RIBA stages 5 and 6. In addition, The Recursive Media team provided software development services creating and building the unique Pixel 4K playback system and lifesize virtual mannequins alongside a live social media touch wall pulling in real time feeds from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
